Selective Supplementary Course

Tuesday 4:00 - 6:00pm

 

The Selective Supplementary Course is a class designed to take potential Selective School Students through difficult questions again, as well as build upon the knowledge from the past Selective Trial Tests.

 

What will students learn?

• Learning and Memorising new vocabulary.

• Learning to write different text types - narratives,poetry, recounts etc.

• Speed Maths - new methods of working outmathematics quickly!

 

This class is open to all students, but particularlyaimed towards Year 5 and Year 6 selective studentshoping to gain entry into a Selective School in Year 7. Special discounts apply for students enrolled into both the Selective Test Course and the Selective Supplementary Course.

 
Mental Maths - revisiting the foundations

Friday 4:00 - 6:00pm

 

Do you feel like your child is falling behind in Maths, or that he or she has forgotten

their timetables from time to time? The only way to excel at mental math is to constantly 

practice it. We work with a variety of students at their pace to revise the foundations of

maths. Watch your child blossom by giving them the opportunity to revise in a fun and

relaxed environment and help arm them with the ability to tackle Maths problems

confidently and independently.

 

 

 

Road to Reading

Wednesday 4:00 - 5:30pm

 

Is your child having difficulty with reading? Our new reading class is specifically

designed to guide students through phonics and syllables and thus allowing them

to progressively read with more confidence. Please ask reception for more

information.

 

 

Writing Skills for Beginners

Wednesday 5:30 - 6:00pm

 

Introducing your child to the world of writing can be both thrilling a little bit daunting! We focus on constructing basic sentences with nouns and verbs. This class if focused on students fundamental writing skills. 

 

 

One-on-One private lessons 

 

Got an exam you want to study for? An assignment you want that little bit of extra help with? Or do you simply find the classroom setting a little too overwhelming? For some students, the focused attention in a one-on-one environment empowers the student in a way that is not possible in the classroom.

 

We offer One-to-One private lessons for students who need that little bit extra. We have a host of professional teachers who can assist you in with your academic needs.

 

One-on-One private lessons can be purchased in bundles of 10 and can be arranged with reception.

 

 

FREE Homework Help classes - Monday to Saturday

Monday - Friday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

Saturday: 1:00pm - 3:30pm

 

 

Do you ever find that your child just doesn't want to do their homework at home? We've found that the home environment is not always conducive to long periods of study or productivity. That's why we've offered FREE homework help classes at our facility in Lidcombe. Students come in and study with fellow peers who are also studying or catching up with homework, and if they stumble upon any questions - they simply raise their hand and a tutor will be there to assist. 

 

Students who are struggling to finish their homework or have difficulties understanding their given tasks can ask our tutors during the homework help class. Parents are strongly advised to check the student's workbook regularly to see which areas need to be improved.



Hours for homework help classes are as follows: (please note, children do not have to attend the entire duration of the class)



  • Monday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

  • Tuesday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

  • Wednesday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

  • Thursday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

  • Friday: 3:30 - 5:30pm

  • Saturday: 1:00pm - 3:30pm


Places limited to 18 students each day from Monday to Saturday. Bookings can be
made at reception up to 3 weeks ahead, first in first serve.
 
N.B: Parents are responsible for providing water and snacks, alternatively you
can give your child some money and a staff member will be available to take 
students to Subway or a JJ's take away shop before 3:30pm each day.
 
 

FREE pick-up service from school

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (during the school term)

 

We know parents are busy, that's why we've offered a FREE pick-up service to all Wisdom Education students.

 

If your child has a class at Wisdom Education during the week or is booked in for a homework help class, you can take advantage of our FREE pick-up service (only available to enrolled GEMW students).

 

A staff member will pick up students from the front gates (Mary St) of St Joachim's Catholic Primary School or the basketball courts (Doodson Ave) of Lidcombe Public School. Simply fill out a form at reception to arrange for a pick up!
